Journey on Keto Diet 2023

Living on Keto has never been an easy journey for me. In the past, I have never worked on any type of diet as I was healthy and slim. I used to eat everything and partied a lot. Since the time I came to Canada, my weight suddenly increased maybe because of food quality and cold climate. So I tried various ways to curb increasing weight like working out at the gym and avoiding eating carbs at night but none had worked out so far for me.

I am an active person but I tend to get muscle pulls if I exert myself in any activities, even the gym. Therefore, I am not regular with exercise. So, I decided to research information on how to reduce weight without working out or exercising. I came across the Keto diet plan and found it fascinating. I studied it for 3 months and learned about how the diet works and what food and drinks to consume. With research and my determination, I went into the Keto diet in Jan 2023 and I lost more than 44 pounds in a year.

Going into a Ketogenic diet has not been easy and also being a vegetarian is altogether not easy but one gets used to it. Initially, it was tough as it’s like changing the entire food on the kitchen shelves; changing the whole wardrobe has not been easy. It has been very difficult controlling one’s mind like controlling all your favorite food desires at home and parties. When one can get used to it then it has become a part of your lifestyle. I found this diet has been far more healthier and safer and I have considered this as part of my lifestyle now.

Looking back, I sometimes pondered at how I controlled my mind and my gut. It was not so easy as I was a big foodie. My husband, my kids, and my family overseas tell me often that I have grown fat but I often shrugged it off as I always think that I was slim. The reason is that I never gained weight nor I wasn’t fat in the early days. I realized later that I had gained weight since I moved to Canada. This realization dawned on me when I looked into the mirror after I came back from dinner at someone’s place, I hated the look on myself and I decided to forgo unhealthy food and eating food at odd hours. It happened on Dec 2022 night (couldn’t remember the date) I could not forget that day at all.

Thus, I began this journey last year and I will continue this forever. This has taught me a lesson of how to take care of my body as my body is my temple and I must worship and respect my body as this will always take care of my beauty and health. Therefore, taking care of the body is very important for life.

I find that this Keto diet plan works for me and I consider this as part of my permanent lifestyle as I find it suitable for my health. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge all about the Keto diet and my plans in the next chapter.
